Hi! We're super happy to tell you that the lab grew a lot :)
Now we're more than 10 devs interested in exploring different aspects of games. 3 earnt a scholarship due to their academic achievements, yay! You can check the "
Who we are" section.
We made some
prototypes in PuzzleScript and they are available to you. They were shown at "STEAM NEXUM: el desafío de la enseñanza" which was held at Museo Histórico Sarmiento. The event was organized by the IEEE argentine chapter and it was about the challenges of teaching.
We also toyed around with
Unity and implemented some familiar mechanics:
Croc Rouge by Adriel Arández - No humans in paradise by Mauro Wehner
Spaceball by Giuliano Taliano - Defending El Dorado by Germán García
The prototypes were made in order to familiarize with the engine and foster computational thinking skills. They were shown at
CIITI Buenos Aires and won the second place in the student competition of the event, yay!
And these photos are from CIITI Rosario:
We organized the LIVE Talks in order to invite devs who are making awesome things. Our first guest was
Julián Cordero (graduated from the NY University and IGF nominee).
LIVE also published our first
paper about a new methodology for Game Design: "Deep Game Design: Una nueva metodología para crear juegos innovadores".
We also gave a talk about the relationship between Mathematics and games. We mainly used Fidel Dungeon Rescue (Daniel Benmergui) and Engare (Mahdi Bahrami) as examples regarding graph theory and geometric patterns.
We were visited by many delegations from all over the world (Turkey, Tunisia, China, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia and Guatemala)
We gave two programming workshops to elementary school students during summer.
They also had the opportunity to play our next prototypes :)
So stay tuned and have fun!!!
