Good news!

We're super happy to announce that Alejo Carella, Gianfranco Tripodaro, Constanza Duarte Petti and Juan Pablo Peralta Pino made a game called NeoMates for This is Argentina Jam. They won the jury and the audience award! You can play it here.

We have a gallery!

Hi there! We are super excited to tell you that we have a public gallery in Mozilla Hubs to show our projects and chat with you. The gallery was made by the awesome Belén Herrera. You can also play the new prototypes that we are making by clicking on the "Our Games" tab. Have fun!

2019 in a post

Hi! We're super happy to tell you that the lab grew a lot :)

Now we're more than 10 devs interested in exploring different aspects of games. 3 earnt a scholarship due to their academic achievements, yay! You can check the "Who we are" section.

We made some prototypes in PuzzleScript and they are available to you. They were shown at "STEAM NEXUM: el desafío de la enseñanza" which was held at Museo Histórico Sarmiento. The event was organized by the IEEE argentine chapter and it was about the challenges of teaching.

We also toyed around with Unity and implemented some familiar mechanics:

Croc Rouge by Adriel Arández - No humans in paradise by Mauro Wehner

Spaceball by Giuliano Taliano - Defending El Dorado by Germán García

The prototypes were made in order to familiarize with the engine and foster computational thinking skills. They were shown at CIITI Buenos Aires and won the second place in the student competition of the event, yay!

And these photos are from CIITI Rosario:

We organized the LIVE Talks in order to invite devs who are making awesome things. Our first guest was Julián Cordero (graduated from the NY University and IGF nominee).

LIVE also published our first paper about a new methodology for Game Design: "Deep Game Design: Una nueva metodología para crear juegos innovadores".

We also gave a talk about the relationship between Mathematics and games. We mainly used Fidel Dungeon Rescue (Daniel Benmergui) and Engare (Mahdi Bahrami) as examples regarding graph theory and geometric patterns.

We were visited by many delegations from all over the world (Turkey, Tunisia, China, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Malaysia, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia and Guatemala)

We gave two programming workshops to elementary school students during summer.

They also had the opportunity to play our next prototypes :)

So stay tuned and have fun!!!

Our first post :)

We're very happy to tell you that the research center in computer technology (CAETI) at Universidad Abierta Interamericana has an experimental game lab called LIVE

Our lab's vision is to expand the borders of the game medium.

With a focus on innovation and experimentation, LIVE is a research space aimed at creating experiences that go beyond actual game mechanics, aesthetics and man-machine interfaces. We believe that the unique combination of engineering values with a multidisciplinary environment creates a fundamental polymathy to advance the state of the art. This allows generating greater training and visibility opportunities for developers in response to a competitive industry. LIVE also seeks in a constant and avant-garde way to reflect critically on its development processes to facilitate the creation of tomorrow's videogames.

In this blog we will show our progress so stay tuned!
